A New Spin on the Serenity prayer
« on: January 21, 2010, 05:01:49 PM »
This week I hear a new spin put on the Serenity Prayer. It goes something like this:

Lord, Give me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change.
And the courage to change the person I can.
And the wisdom to know that person is me.

Jesus had some words on this. Basically take the log out of your own eye. But this requires that we be honest with ourselves and few of us wants to do that.

This is the prayer we need to pray:

(23) Search me O God, and know my heart; try me and know my thoughts.
(24)And see if there be any wicked way in me. (Psalm 139: 23,24)
