I got the idea on a rainy Sabbath afternoon to copy and paste in an explanation and turn it into a Bible game for a rainy day activity.

The idea is take some sentence of the post, read about it in Bible & SOP to be sure the sentance's concept is accurate.  Edit the concept if inaccurate and reword to reflect the edited concept (and telling why).

Then hunt up in the Bible where the Bible explains what the sentence is talking about.

here goes  grin       Jesus's role in Pentecost AD 31

******************************************

Looking at Pentecost AD 31.

Why on that Pentecost only - was such an out pouring typified in the Mosaic rites, ceremonies, symbols, lessons ?   Was such supposed to be expected to happen on Pentecost - because it was Pentecost ?

Going from Acts Ch 1 onward to the end of Revelation.

Acts 1:2 - Jude 1:20  = 89 texts "Holy Ghost",  "The Spirit" = 101  Texts,  upon reviewing all of them no more out pourings seen in Scripture due to a date, but rather outpourings due to prayer and being in position to receive Him (The Holy Ghost) and take the appropriate actions upon the terms of Him who was being poured out.

Acts 1:4  And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father[/], which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

Promise of the Father is a key phrase - what promise ?   Is the outpouring of the Holy Ghost a function of a cyclic feast ?   It such is so, why thousands of Pentecosts up till then and no baptizing with the Holy Ghost after the magnitude of this sort before hand ?

The answer is that this outpouring is not a function of a yearly cycling feast, because no other pentecost had brought this out pouring .

This out pouring is a function of the intent of Father God because Scripture says if is the promise of the Father.  But why right then why not some earlier time.

Until that time Jesus Christ had not earned the right to be the Redeemer, Deliverer, High Priest, Intercessor, Mediatior and the ability to offically act and receive as His rights as Divine King and Conquerer of sin, Satan, and the only human sinless lawkeeper, and Divine High Priest .

Upon Calvary He earned the right, but could not physically put it into action because He was in the tomb still drinking the punishment for sin - death at the direct power of God and staying dead till the debt is settled and atonement made and it is accepted and ratified.

It would take an ordained priest to make atonement and mediate and interceed,  that through merits exceeding the sinners debt, prevail that Father God communicate the promise made to this priest in behalf of the sinners being atoned for.

Jesus dies on the cross, raises from the dead out of the tomb.  But He tells Mary not to worship Him, there is some ratification that must take place first, He must have offical assurance that everything He has done up to that point is accepted and certified as all sufficent.

Once this is accomplished after He journey's to Heaven, He returns and allows the disciples to worship Him. Then after teaching and commanding them 40 days, He returns to Heaven - because only a priest is authorized to officate, mediate, interceed, and conduct making atonement.

Once back in heaven, the services begin to inaugerate Jesus Christ and anoint Him, and the Holy Place and Most Holy Place of the Sanctuary in Heaven and offically ratify and inaugerate all the services and offices and rights and perogatives of Jesus Christ as Redeemer, Deliverer, High Priest, Intercessor, Mediatior, Lamb of God, Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Leader of the activities and Army in array during the Seven Last Plagues & Second Coming as King of Kings.

On the tenth day the inaguration is complete.  Christ's first offical action is to request that The Holy Ghost be poured out as the Early Rain at His Command. This is what The Father promised Him in response to earlier prayer while Jesus was on Earth.

Next question -  What did Jesus,  (obviously in the upper room during the 40 days), command them to preach on Pentecost ?

Hint - Where in the Book of Acts is it found ?

What fun is a Scripture drill if no one shows up ?

even if cheating > e sword or online bible > (commanded preach) = Acts 10:42

context :

Acts 10:
37  That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
39  And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
40  Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
41  Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
43  To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
44 ¶  While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45  And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46  For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47  Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48  And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

The early Church began it's Spirit filled Preaching - preaching a Judgment hour focused Gospel message full of eternal & present truths. AD 31 in those regards of content (in principle) re the thrust of the message look at the parallels.   Sorta like 1798 building to 1844 in a way.     grin
