Preparing a Holy People to Meet a Holy God

From the Prayer Journal

  • Lord God, Thank you for waking us to the light of a new day.You restore our souls, You make us to lie down. We thank You for a clean page; that this day is a new beginning. Lord, may we build on Your Word and not on our own mistakes to perpetuate them or to let them hold us down. Eye hath not seen nor ear hath heard, neither hath extended into the hearts of men the things that You have prepared for them that love You. We seek today to abide in You and You in us. We don't ask that You take us out of the world but we do ask that You keep us from the evil. You promised that by abiding in You we would bring forth much fruit. We want to taste and see. We want to know from experience, through the Holy Spirit, about Jesus and the joy of His resurrection. Praise, and honor, and glory be to Your name now and forever more. Amen.
  • Come let us sing unto the Lord. Let us make a joyful noise unto the Rock of our Salvation. Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving. Let us make a joyful noise unto Him with Psalms. For the Lord is a great God. A great King above all gods. Come let us bow down and worship him. Let us kneel down before our Maker. We are the people of His pasture the sheep of His hand. Lord ,have mercy upon us. You have the deep places of the earth in Your hand. The strength of the hills are in Your hand. The sea is Your's. You made it. Your hands formed the dry land. What is man that You are mindful of him or the son of man that You visit him? Lord, we are as grass and as the flowers of the grass. The grass withereth the flower fadeth, but Thou, O Lord, are for eternity. Be blessed ever more. Lord, You have reconciled us to Yourself through Your Son. Now, O Father, reconcile our hearts to Thee so that we will hear Your voice. Don't let us harden our hearts. As in the day of Pentecost send the Comforter, the early and the latter rain, that the harvest may be ready for Your increase. Amen.
  • Lord, glorious things of Thee are spoken. Thou art gracious, merciful, patient, and long suffering and abundant in goodness and truth. Holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty. Father of Light with whom there is no variableness neither shadow or turning. Early will we seek Thee, O Thou who never sleeps or slumbers. We are weak but you are strong, Lord. Thy strength is made perfect in our weakness. Yet, O Father, strengthen us according to Thy loving kindness. If with all our hearts we truly seek Thee we will ever truly find Thee. Feed us O Lord by thy Spirit. Make your word to become flesh. Dwell among us and in us, O Lord. Straighten the crooked paths of our hearts. Bring to us the staute of men and women id Christ Jesus. Narrow is the way that leads to life eternal. May Thy Word be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. May we hear a voice behind us saying this is the way to walk. Walk ye in it. Lord, we want to see the gleams of the golden morning peircing through the night of gloom. Hide us under your wing. Be unto us the Rock of Ages. Glory and honor be to Thee and praise and adoration through the Spirit unto Jesus Christ.
  • God, we thank you for Jesus, your only begotten Son, Who being in form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God. We praise Him who is our Savior, our Lord, Redeemer, and Brother. We are thankful that He is the head of the church-the called out ones- and that we are members together of this body. Lord please protect the church from wolves in sheep's clothing. Purify the church of all that is an impediment to the fulfilling of Your will and to Your glory. May there be purity of doctrine and unity of faith. Manifest the gifts of the Spirit that the "called out ones" might be built up and grow on into the stature of mature men and women in Christ Jesus. We pray for those who lead the church that they might be Your men and might be full of the Holy Ghost and power- men given to the Word and to prayer. Lord protect the church from it's enemies, from the Dragon and his followers who would destroy it. Amen.
  • Everlasting Father, Mighty God, Prince of Peace, Emmanuel. Exalted be your name. O Holy One of Israel we would speak glorious things of Thee. O Thou, in who's presence our soul takes delight in whom in affliction we call. Thou who art our Father from everlasting to everlasting. Thou who has called us out of darkness into marvelous light. Shed abroad, O God, in an ever increasing way Thy glory. Prince of Peace calm the waters. Give us that peace that passeth understanding. Thou art one, O God, make us one as Thou art one. Lord, banish the darkness of division, of contention, of competition, of backbiting, of striving for supremacy. Heal our backsliding. Cast us not away from your mercy. Help us, O God, to have the Spirit of the Lord upon us, that we might be used of you to preach the gospel to the poor. To bind up the broken hearted. To set the captive free. To give sight to the blind. Lord, rebuke the principalities and power. The rulers of darkness of this world. Spiritual wickedness in high places. Lord, cause Thy glory to be risen upon us. Amen.
  • Lord God Heavenly Father let all the people praise Thee O God. Let all the people praise Thee, for Thou has been good to us and Thy mercies are ever with us. You have not let us alone in our transgressions nor have you rewarded us according to the magnitude of our sins. Holy and righteous is your name, Thou who only are from everlasting to everlasting. Guide us great Jehovah for we are a proud and stiffnecked people. Forgive us for our irreverence and insensitivity. All that we have is Thine and all that we are is Thine. Yet we are not careful with Your trust. We have treated holy things as if they were profane. May there be no sacred and secular in our lives, Lord, but take our lives and let them be wholly consecrated to Thee. May our lives be a sweet smelling savor. May holiness unto the Lord be written upon our foreheads. We would be, dear Lord, wholly Thine. Teach us how. Teach us how. We would do thine will, Oh Lord, not our own. Help us. Help us now. What does it mean to be conformed to the image of Your Son? Live out Thy life within me, O Jesus, King of Kings. Be Thou Thyself the answer to all my questions. Amen.
  • Merciful God and Heavenly Father, as Mary washed the feet of the Savior and the smell filled the whole room, so let the perfume of Thy love and grace permeate and fill the very air that we breath. May the atmosphere be filled by the Holy Spirit of righteousness that we may live and move and have our being in Thee. Remove from our lives, at the source, all that is offensive to Thee who alone are Holy and who is blessed forever more. Lord do not let anyone or anything take us out of your hand. We pray that you will break the bands that hold us. Rebuke he that accuses us continually, not because his accusations are not true but because our lives are hidden with Thee in Christ. Lord, strengthen our faith, build us up into Thy holiness. We would not let you go until you bless us. O Holy One of Israel leave us not alone. We are your children. Your purchased possession. So teach us your ways that we stumble not and fall. Show us your glory that we may be encouraged and faint not. Thou who art our shield and builder protect us for your names sake. Amen.
  • I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. May my meditation be sweet to him. I will be glad in the Lord. Bless the Lord, Oh my soul. Praise the Lord, glory be to his holy name. Lord our delight is in Thee and in thy law. We would meditate day and night. Make us, O Father, like a tree planted by the river of water whose leaves shall not wither and whatever we do we shall prosper thy kingdom. O Lord, let us dwell in the secret place of the Most High. That we may abide under the shadow of the Almighty. We will say of the Lord, He is my fortress.O God,in him shall we trust. Lord help us to keep our hearts fixed on Thee. Forgive us for not giving you the glory due to your name. Forgive us for being drawn aside by the cares of this life.Lord have mercy upon us.Teach us your ways Father, help us live from day to day, in such a self forgetful way that even when we kneel to pray our prayers shall be of others.
  • Our Father who art in Heaven thank Thee that we are called Thy sons and daughters. Hallowed be Thy name. Holy and Righteous is Thy name. Thou art the only true God, a great King above all gods. Thy kingdom come. The nations of earth are become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ. Thy kingdom is in love, and joy, and peace. Father, posses our hearts and minds. We want to seek first Thy kingdom. Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. We delight to do Thy will, O God. Yea Thy will is written in our hearts. Give us this day our daily bread. Give us, O God, the Living Bread and the Living Water that we might hunger and thirst no more. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lord, heal the bitterness and resentment in our hearts. As Thou hast forgiven us through the Holy Spirit give us the spirit of forgiveness and confession that we may forgive others. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Lord, spare us not the test. But let us not sin have dominion over us. Lead us in the path of righteousness for Your nameís sake. Chasten us according to Your pleasure. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen and Amen.
  • Lord God thank you for waking us to the light of a new day. You restore our souls, you make us to lie down. We thank you for a clean page, that this day is a new beginning. Father, may we build on Your Word and not on our own mistakes to perpetuate them or to let them hold us down. Eye hath not seen nor ear hath heard, neither hath entered into the hearts of men the things that You have prepared for them that love You and we love You. We seek today to abide in You and pray that you will abide in us. We don't ask that You take us out of the world but we do ask that You keep us from the evil. Lord You promised that by abiding in You we would bring forth much fruit. We want to taste and see. We want to know from experience, through the Holy Spirit, Jesus and the joy of His resurrection. Praise, and honor, and glory be to your name now and forever more. Amen.
  • Father in Heaven hallowed be Your glorious name. With thankful hearts we honor You Who has called us and chosen us to be conformed to the image of Your Son. Lord, Please bless us and keep us. Make Your face shine upon us and be gracious unto us. Lift up Your countenance upon us and give us peace. Teach us how to represent You so that Your name may be glorified and that by seeing our works others may glorify our Father which is in Heaven. Strengthen us with Your right hand and give us a new song in our hearts. Teach us Your ways so that Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Your Word we have hid in our hearts that we may not sin against You. O sanctify us through Your truth. Your Word is truth. Amen.
