The conscience is not God's voice but a human faculty that we must program.
We cannot trust our conscience unless we are sure that we are constantly keeping it calibrated by the Word of God.
Guilt indicates that the conscience is functioning. Instead of a cause, it is an effect.

How do the words of Jesus that the one who is faithful in little things is also faithful in big ones (Luke 16:10) apply to the health and well-being of our conscience?
