I like this text and am using it alot in my preaching. I believe it is basic for Christians always but especially now.

By the way, Am I the only one to have favorite texts?

Yes, one of my favorites, too.  One of the first ones I memorized.  It sort of goes along with that text where Paul says that everything else is dung.  Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.   Philippians 3:8

I especially like I Cor. 10:13:  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.  I'm afraid too many of us don't really believe it.

Another of my favorites is Luke 17:10:  So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.  It keeps me humble. 

Another one that's right up there at the top is Romans 8:35, 38, 39:  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? . . .  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Again, I'm afraid too many of us forget this right when we need to be remembering it the most.

I hope I wasn't supposed to start new threads for each of those.

Yes, Raven, the Romans 8 verse is a beauty. The love of God and the  Hope from our hopelessness in it's entirety.

My favorite still is John 14:1-3

Let not your heart be troubled. Ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again that where I am, ye may be also.

John 16:33 is another one. Louis Giglio in his sermon 'Hope When It Hurts the Most' really brought this out in such a profound, personal and practical way that it still resonates with me even though I can't remember the details anymore.

These things I have spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer;  I have over come the world.

Rom 8:28  "All things work together for good for those who love the Lord and, are call according to His purposes".

Slowly getting around to these.
I think my all time favorite has to be John 3:16,17
For God so loved the world, He gave us His Son that whosoever believeth in Him [should] not perish, but, have everlasting life.
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world [through Him] might be saved .

I have used these 2 many times when trying to explain why I trust Him and that they can too.
Just substitute their name for the word world, and make it personal to you and them.
