The Devil an evangelist?
« on: February 19, 2016, 06:57:17 PM »
I remember when we used to preach that being a follower of Christ meant we had to separate ourselves from the world. It would appear that those days are nearly a thing of the past. The devil has now convinced us that, if we are to save the lost, we must ourselves be on board their Titanic.

Under the guise of saving the unchurched, in many places, we have allowed ourselves to believe that to do so effectively we must live like the unsaved. Instead of calling the world to take up the cross many have taken up the world.

The Devil has become an evangelist!

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1Peter 5:8

Satan's Church bulletin :

Sermon - pablum or heresy
opening song - glory for me  (adapted)
offering - hold back for the bigger house - bigger car - lottery board
Sabbath School - Hollywood songs, and TV skits, and reality by consensus vote, absolutes are out
potluck - theme today - what we crave
vespers - Walmart dreams

Daniel & Revelation Seminar next week

week 1 - Blood Moons and futurism
week 2 - Fiction Feasts and Fables
week 3 - Desmond Ford
week 4 - Rick Warren
week 5 - Madam Blavatsky

baptize them fast, teach them little, boo hoo when they leave, lament our misfortune, then sin, swing, celebrate, some more, a new preacher is getting invested and her name is.......

Grateful for Psalms 32 and Titus 2:10 While it is true that God gives the message from Scripture and SOP. The taste I give to others about the message sells it or kills it, I learn to walk it well & cook it well & eat it myself, before I preach it.  Then the SDA message appeals by His righteousness.

What do you say when the pastor discussing evangelism wants to focus on the unchurched and not worry about those in other churches for fear he will be "sheep stealing" if they were to be converted to the SDA church and leave their old church? And what was it that Jesus said about giving "life more abundantly"?

I thought the command "GO YE" was implied to mean everywhere so that they are certified by being sealed with the seal of the Living God and end up at the inaugural on the sea of glass crowned with a crown of eternal life from the hand of Jesus ?

If they receive of the seven last plagues that won't happen.

I think the problem is that while it is easy to tell if one gets on a literal Titanic it is not so obvious if someone climbs aboard Satan's spiritual titanic.  Few realize that they are on his boat. It might even be said that we start out on Satan's titanic. It is a matter of getting off his boat. This brings to memory the vision that Ellen White had where she saw a long train. It seemed like almost the whole world was on board. The train was racing forward with its passengers laughing and having a good time. Then she saw that the conductor of the train was Satan and the people were headed for disaster.
