Every soul is elected who will work out his own salvation with fear and trembling. He is elected who will put on the armor and fight the good fight of faith.He is elected who will watch unto prayer, who will search the Scriptures, and flee from temptation. He is elected who will have faith continually, and who will be obedient to every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. The provisions of redemption are free to all; the results of redemption will be enjoyed by those who have complied with the conditions. {PP 208.1}
who are God's elect? or should I say VERY elect
Quote from: newbewho are God's elect? or should I say VERY electA good formula is found in Revelation 17:14 "and they that are with him [are] called, and chosen, and faithful." This has been likened to collage basketball or volleyball --The call goes out to EVERYONE -- all who would like to play can come out.Yet out of 300 or so students only about 30 show up.The chosen -- teams are chosen only of those who showed up. Those who did not respond to the call were not chosen.The faithful -- the games are on, but what of the player who keeps shooting baskets for the opposing team? He's not faithful in working together with his team mates, but works for the opposing team.He will not be among the chosen if this is what he continues to do.Thus in the game of life.Christ calls ALL to come to Him for salvation.But only those who chose to respond to the invitation can be among the chosen.Then, those who were chosen show they are faithful by playing for and with their team, listening to their team captain, they do not score points for the opposing team.The elect which stand with Christ in the last days are the calledchosen andfaithful.
