Unless our concept of God is growing in respect and reverence, it will be difficult, if not impossible, for us to come up out of the pit into which we are fallen.  God is inviting those who call themselves by His name to come up to a higher standard.  We must resist the tendency of our culture to bring everything down to the same low level.  Not until we see God for what He is and relate ourselves to Him as He deserves (see Isaiah 6:5) will our relationship with Him be what it ought to be.  Until this happens, our relationship with each other and even our self-respect will continue to slide.
